Helping youth and families reach their full potential.
TASC - Truancy Assessment and Service Center
- juvenile delinquency is reduced by addressing its primary predictor –truancy in kindergarten through 5th grade
- families are educated on policies and laws regarding school attendance and overcome familial, social, health, and other barriers to regular school attendance
- children resume regular school attendance so they can advance to the next grade level and avoid future law-breaking behaviors and involvement in the juvenile justice system
- in FY 2023/2024, YSB TASC served 604 young students in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes
CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocates
- trained adult volunteer provide advocacy for children (newborn to 18th birthday) who have been abused and neglected
- adults from the community are carefully screened, trained, and supervised as they gather information about the children to whom they are assigned and make recommendations to the juvenile court in the child’s best interest and in support of their need for a safe, permanent home
- children live in safe and permanent homes, free from further abuse or neglect
- in FY 2023/2024, CASA Volunteers served 226 children in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes
Options - adolescent substance abuse assessment, intervention, and treatment
- intervention in the destructive, self-defeating cycle of addiction by assisting children ages 12 to 17 who have used or abused drugs or alcohol and their families in the recovery process
- education and counseling for families when a child has abused drugs or alcohol, evidence-based outpatient treatment for adolescents with substance use disorders (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy)
- children abstain from use of drugs or alcohol and develop positive coping skills
- in FY 2023/2024, the YSB Options program assessed and provided services for 397 St. Tammany Parish youth
FINS - Families in Need of Services
- children ages 10 through 17 who commit pre-delinquent offenses such as truancy, ungovernable behavior, or curfew violation receive counseling, resources, and support to keep the family out of the judicial system
- caseworkers and families work together through risk and needs assessment, identification of goals for the child and family & referral to services to meet those goals
- results include improved family functioning, reduction in self-destructive behaviors, greater success in school
- in FY 2023/2024, the YSB FINS program helped 211 St. Tammany and Washington Parish children
Crossroads - Delinquency Intervention
- delinquency intervention, helping youthful offenders choose a new direction and avoid future delinquent behavior
- caseworkers and families of children ages 12 to 17 who have committed a delinquent offense work together through risk and needs assessment, identification of goals for the child and family, referral to services to meet those goals, and coordination of community service work and restitution to victims
- children complete court-ordered intervention & services, understand the impact of juvenile crime on the community and themselves, and avoid future delinquent behavior
- in FY 2023/2024, Crossroads provided intervention for 737 St. Tammany Parish children

provides background screening for CASA Volunteers for 24 children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect.

supports substance abuse counseling for a youth & their family for a year.
A donation of $500...
provides 6 weeks of group counseling by a certified Anger Management Facilitator for up to 15 youth.
A donation of $1,000...
means that a sibling group of up to 5 children has the powerful voice of a trained and supervised CASA Volunteer for 6 months.
