Raffle Winner Announced!
Banner Ford owner Rick Flick with raffle winner Sheila Pittman and YSB CEO Mary Slazer
Guests of the Youth Service Bureau’s annual Chef Soirée on March 19, 2017, enjoyed an evening of delicious food, beverages, and live music, all in support of the agency’s programs of advocacy, counseling, education and intervention, helping at-risk youth reach their full potential. The event returned to the Covington Trailhead for a second year. Chef Soirée 2017 was presented by Chevron, and was also supported by numerous local businesses.
A highlight of the evening is the announcement of the winner of the Chef Soirée Raffle, sponsored by Banner Ford. Sheila Pittman purchased the winning ticket for the Lightning Blue 2017 Ford Mustang, which was drawn by YSB Board Chair Tina Flick. “This has proven to be a truly rewarding partnership with Youth Service Bureau,” said Banner Ford owner Rick Flick. “Government cutbacks have hurt funding of YSB, which does so much for the youth in our community. Now more than ever we all need to step up and help this wonderful organization.”
The Chef Soirée is a volunteer-driven event, and once again this year dedicated volunteers provided hundreds of hours of their time, transforming the locale to an elegant, beautifully-decorated venue for al fresco dining and dancing. Leah Brown, Manager of Public Affairs for Chevron, addressed the patrons, “As home to Chevron’s Gulf of Mexico headquarters, St. Tammany Parish is among our most important partners. We’re happy to not only donate financial support to groups like the Youth Service Bureau, but volunteer hours as well. I thank the Youth Service Bureau for their partnership – and for their tireless efforts and dedication to children.”
The Wagners performed for guests waiting for the gate opening, and Jojjo Wight and the New Orleans Family Band played during the pre-opening VIP party. Guests enjoyed live music on the Whitney Bank Stage from The Dominos Band. Groovy 7 provided the final performance of the night and left the crowd calling for more!
The Youth Service Bureau is a private, non-profit, 501(c) 3 agency. The proceeds from Chef Soirée support vital programs for at-risk youth in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes, including Crossroads, CASA, FINS, Options, and TASC.
